Next, embark on a 2-hour trek through dense jungle to a secret waterfall, its crystal waters inviting you to swim and unwind. Day 2

​Wake to the aroma of home-grown coffee and a hearty breakfast at the lodge. Today, you’ll trek 2 hours to an off-grid Karen hill tribe village, where life is simple yet profound. Meet the Karen people, hear their stories, and see their vibrant culture up close. Another 2-hour trek takes you to Mae Sa Pok waterfall, where you’ll enjoy a picnic prepared by your local hosts—fresh, authentic, and bursting with flavor.


As evening falls, cook dinner alongside the villagers, learning their recipes and sharing laughter. For those craving more, an optional evening walk through glowing rice fields offers a moment of serenity. The night ends around a crackling bonfire at a rural farmstay, where stories and stars light up the sky.

Day 1 

Your 4x4 adventure begins with a rugged climb out of Chiang Mai toward the legendary Doi Inthanon National Park. Our first stops introduce you to nature’s majesty: the majestic Mae Ya Waterfall and the cool, rarefied air at the highest point in Thailand (2,565m).

 

We take in the panoramic views near the iconic King & Queen Pagodas before a stop at a vibrant hill tribe seasonal fruit market. As evening falls, your day culminates at the truly unique Bamboo Jungle Lodge, where the serenity of your private waterfall will lull you to sleep.

Join local farmers for the timeless practice of traditional buffalo rice farming before trekking to a secret jungle waterfall, perfect for a cooling swim. Your day concludes with a shared, home-cooked meal and an overnight stay at a rustic local rural farmstay.

​Wake up early to witness the spiritual beauty of the Monks' morning alms round and the bustle of a local market. The morning is dedicated to ethical animal encounters: observing elephants in their traditional tribal life followed by a peaceful bamboo rafting trip down the Mae Wang river.

 

After paying respects to the local Big Buddha, we take the 4x4 off-road to a Karen hill tribe village. The day ends in spectacular fashion at our exclusive Bamboo Jungle Lodge, where you’ll sleep to the sound of your own private waterfall after a BBQ bonfire.

Day 3

​After a breakfast of home-grown coffee, we ascend to the "Roof of Thailand"—Doi Inthanon National Park. We trek through the jungle to the stunning Pha Dok Siew waterfall and stand at the country’s highest point (2,565m).

 

After visiting the royal King & Queen Pagodas, we take a scenic drive through the mountains to Mae Jam, stopping for a dip at Huey Sai Luang Waterfall. Your overnight stay is a photographer’s dream: sleeping amidst the world-famous Ban Ba Bong Piang rice terraces.

In town, we explore the stunning Burmese-style architecture of Doi Kong Mu temple before browsing the seasonal walking street market. Tonight, we relax in comfort at the beautiful Fern Resort.

The afternoon takes us underground into the massive chambers of Lod Cave on a bamboo raft. We end the day in the bohemian town of Pai, resting at Peacocks De Pai.

Day 6

​Today we explore the natural and cultural wonders of Pai. Walk the narrow ridges of Pai Canyon and cross the famous Bamboo Bridge over lush rice paddies. We’ll visit a Chinese village to try our hand at traditional archery and capture the panoramic views at Yun Lai viewpoint.

 

After soaking up the atmosphere of the Pai Walking Street, we return to Peacocks De Pai for the night.

We close the loop back in Chiang Mai with a visit to the sacred Doi Suthep temple (or a relax at Huay Tung Tao lake), dropping you off with a heart full of memories from the ultimate Northern Thai road trip.
